The Venue
The Paintworks is Bristol's newest arts and media centre and is the chosen venue for the day. The main ceremony and reception will be held in it's vast events space downstairs from The Bocabar which we frequent regularly (ok almost everyday). Now in its third year, the reputation this place has built among South Bristol’s residents is quite astounding. In fact, pleasure seekers from all over Bristol are now making their way to the Bath Road in their hoards to sample Bocabar’s very individual vibe and great food, with a menu that’s extending all the time.

With high ceilings, exposed red brick walls, fairy lights, wooden furniture and huge lush plants, the bar and tapas counter dominate the rear of the venue, displaying world beers, cocktails and wines. They serve the best pizzas in the south west, stone-baked in full view of the whole bar. The Bocabar menu also features daily specials, so just ask. Bocabar is a great place to visit whenever; they serve breakfast snacks every weekday, with a range of full breakfasts at the weekends. Sundays are host to the Boca roast with a two-course lunch, perfect for families who want a chilled lounging lunch and afternoon. Thursdays and Saturdays see live jazz and world music to keep diners entertained, and DJs spin some choice tunes every Friday.

The owner Humberto Benevenuto is also a personal friend and lives next door to us, so it seemed the most logical choice of venue. The food on the day will also be prepared by Humberto and his head chef Jayne who not surprisingly is also a personal friend of ours. Both are amazing chefs who have worked on cookery programmes for the BBC so hopefully you will all enjoy the food on the day.

We have full use of the space downstairs with huge decking area to one side and a smaller decked area for the smokers on the other side. There will also be a designated area for children on the day with face painters and also a dedicated child minder to keep an eye on them all. There will also be live music throughout the day with fully stocked bar.
